It is not at all unusual for the novice photographers who come to me to be soon working their way up the professional ladder. However, most people come for photography courses simply because they want to learn and get more pleasure from their photography and their camera.

It does NOT matter if you use a compact camera or top level DSLR camera – on these photography courses I’ll show you how to take better photographs and how to have more fun doing it.
The photography course and tuition is tailored to suit each individual photographer. A typical day begins with a brief look at some of your previous pictures, often followed by a morning of discussion and tuition to suit your particular needs. We may discuss camera craft, technique, light or composition. Most afternoons are spent on location with you taking photographs with my guidance and help. You may be photographing interiors, landscapes or portraits depending on your requirements and photographic aims.

Personal one-to-one photography courses are easily arranged here in Kirkcudbright, SW Scotland. All you have to do is contact me, Philip Dunn, with the date or dates you require and, if it is available, you can secure it with a deposit. You can bring up to two other photographers with you for this personal tuition.

Some of our locations can be remote and we use a trusty Landrover to reach them during your one-to-one tuition.
